How would you like to know exactly how  barramundi behave, so that you can improve your chances of bagging bigger barramundi more consistently?

I came across this great site by the Northern Territory fisheries. The site has some excellent information regarding barramundi.

The page covers all of the following plus a lot more and is well worth the time to check it out.

  • The Barramundi  lifecycle
  • Biology and Ecology of a barramundi.
  • Where barramundi spawn and migrate.
  • Length to age ratio.
  • When they change sex.
  • What they eat in different area’s.
  • How well they can see in dirty water.
  • Why do some barramundi have a red spot on them?
  • Do small barramundi swim up stream in the wet?

So click on this link and check it out now for yourself.

If you haven’t already done so, do yourself a favour and get your hands on the latest NAFA barra, bass and bream magazine (Issue 26).

The cover story shows a huge barramundi (125cm long, 33-35 kgs’s) caught by Michael Kowalski, on a Jason Wilhelm charter on Lake Monduran in Central Queensland.

The boys said that the fish was so big, that it took two of Michaels mates. To lift it up to him so that he could get a photo.

This horse sized barramundi was then quickly released, swimming off quickly none the worse for wear.

The magazine also has some great pictures and stories, from this years barra nationals. So be sure you grab a copy next time you are in the newsagents.
